School admins manage who's in the school's Lantern and what each person can do. Open Settings from the sidebar, then the Members tab.
How teachers join
- Google or Microsoft: a teacher with a school email on one of your school's domains signs in with their school Google or Microsoft account. The first time they do, Lantern makes their account and adds them to the school as a Teacher. There's nothing for you to do first.
- Email and password: password accounts are set up by Ember. Email support@lanternreports.com.au with the teacher's name and school email.
- From a class file: a Reviewer or admin uploading a teacher's class file can add a missing teacher by name and school email. See Review the school's reports as a Reviewer.
Lantern doesn't send invitation emails.
Only people with an email on a domain registered to your school can sign in. See Your school's email domains.
Roles
Each person has one role. Choose it from the role list beside their name; the change saves straight away.
- Teacher: writes reports for their own classes. Sees only their own classes and reports.
- Reviewer: everything a Teacher can do, plus reading every teacher's classes and reports, read only, and sending reports back. Suits a head of school.
- Admin: everything a Reviewer can do, plus the school's rules, settings, members and consent.
New accounts always start as Teacher. To make someone an Admin, wait until they've signed in once, then change their role here.
Remove someone who has left
Choose Remove beside their name and confirm. They can no longer see the school's classes or reports. Reports they wrote stay with the school, where admins and Reviewers can still read them. Any text they'd typed but never used is deleted.
You can't remove yourself, or the school's last owner.
Removing someone from Lantern doesn't close their school email account. Your IT team does that.
Still stuck?
Email support@lanternreports.com.au and a real person will get back to you.
