Access to Lantern

Lantern is an AI-assisted report-writing platform for schools, provided by Ember Education Pty Ltd (ABN 34 693 296 409, ACN 693 296 409) (“Ember”), of 7/276A Domain Road, South Yarra VIC 3141. Access to and use of Lantern are governed by the School Services Agreement entered into between Ember and each school.

There is no self-service sign-up. Accounts are provided to authorised users — teachers, employees, contractors or other people authorised by their school to access Lantern — under the school’s School Services Agreement.

What the School Services Agreement covers

The School Services Agreement records the commercial details and any school-specific arrangements in a Reference Schedule, including the services and included features, authorised users, fees and payment terms, and support arrangements. Its terms and conditions cover use of Lantern, school responsibilities, AI-generated content and teacher review, privacy, notices and consent, school data, security and data breaches, third-party services and overseas disclosures, fees, intellectual property, confidentiality, warranties and liability, insurance, suspension and termination, and dispute resolution.

Under the School Services Agreement, Lantern provides draft content only. Teachers remain responsible for reviewing, editing and approving report content before it is finalised or communicated.

Governing law

The School Services Agreement specifies Victoria, Australia as its governing law.
