Get Lantern for your school

Lantern comes through your school, not individual sign-up; how to sign in if your school uses it or book a demo if it doesn't.

Lantern comes through your school. There's no sign-up for individual teachers: your school sets Lantern up under its agreement with Ember, and teachers sign in with their school account.

If your school already uses Lantern

You don't need to make an account.

  1. Go to the sign-in page.
  2. Choose Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft and use your school account, or sign in with the email and password your school gave you.

The first time you sign in with your school Google or Microsoft account, Lantern makes your account for you. See Ways to sign in.

If you can't get in, ask the person who looks after Lantern at your school, or see Sign-in problems and forgotten passwords.

If your school doesn't use Lantern yet

Bring Lantern to your school:

  • Book a school demo. It takes about fifteen minutes and uses your own material. Bring a report type your school actually uses and your reporting policy, and we'll show you a draft in a teacher's voice, checked against your own rules. Information you share in a demo isn't used to train third-party AI models.
  • Pass it on. Share the Lantern site with your school leaders.

To book, email us with your school, your role and the year levels you report on. We reply within two business days. See our contact page.

When your school signs up, its teachers get their accounts through the school.

Not sure whether your school uses it?

Try signing in with your school email. If you see "Your school isn't set up with Lantern yet", your school doesn't use Lantern, or hasn't registered your email domain yet. Ask your school leaders or IT team.
