Pricing and billing

Each school gets a quote based on student numbers and needs; compliance checking on its own is a separate package; who to contact about invoices and changes.

Lantern is bought by schools, not by individual teachers. Each school gets its own quote, worked out with Ember and put in writing.

How pricing works

What a school pays depends on:

  • the number of students at the school
  • what the school needs: full AI drafting, or compliance checking on its own
  • how much help with onboarding and setting up your school's rules you'd like from us

We work this out with you on a short call, then send the quote in writing. There are no public price tiers and no per-teacher plans.

What every school gets

Smaller schools don't get a cut-down Lantern. Every school gets the full product: drafting in each teacher's voice, checking against your school's rules, the class flow, exports, and data hosted in Australia.

Compliance checking on its own

Not ready for AI drafting? Schools can use Lantern as a compliance checker only: teachers paste in comments they've written elsewhere and Lantern checks them against your school's rules, with no drafting. This is a separate package with its own quote. See Check comments written somewhere else.

Teachers don't pay

Teachers don't pay for Lantern themselves. If your school uses Lantern, your access comes through the school's agreement.

Invoices, renewals and changes

Questions about your school's own invoices, its agreement, student numbers or changing what your school uses go to Ember directly. They're specific to your school, so the help centre and chat can't answer them. Contact us with:

  • your school's name
  • your name and role
  • what you need, such as a copy of an invoice or a change to your school's package
