Every report you've written is on the Reports page. From there, or from the report itself, you can copy a finalised report into your school's reporting system or download it.
Find a report
Open Reports from the sidebar. Choose how to see them:
- By semester shows a tile for each class. Choose a tile to see that class's students.
- By student lists your students and their reports.
Use Search reports to find a student or some words in a report. The filter lets you narrow by year group, subject or course, sort the list, and show Needs attention only.
Choose View on a report to read it, and use the arrows to move between students. Choose Edit to open it in the editor.
Copy or download one report
You can export a report once it's finalised. See Sign off and finalise a report.
- Open the report, or view it on the Reports page.
- Choose Export.
- Pick a format:
- Copy to clipboard: paste it straight into your reporting system.
- PDF: for printing or emailing.
- Word (.docx): to edit in Word or Google Docs.
- Plain text: for pasting into other systems.
Right after you finalise a report, Lantern offers the same choices.
Every format keeps your school's name placeholder, such as %name, exactly as written, so your reporting system can fill in the name. See The %name placeholder. PDF and Word files have a short header with the student, year and subject, and date. Plain text has no header.
Download many at once
- On the Reports page, choose Export all.
- Narrow it down by Class, Student and Report type. To get a whole class, choose the class.
- Choose the Format: PDF, Word or plain text.
- Check the list of who's in the download, then choose Download.
You get one zip file with a file for each report. Each file is named for the student, year, class and report type.
Only finalised reports are exported. The list shows which students have no finalised report, and which reports need signing off again because they were changed after sign-off.
